It’s safe to say that most people have not seen the dentist since March, and for some, it’s probably a bit longer than that. Now that dental practitioners are reopening their doors, it is important to feel safe when you sit in the dentist’s chair.

While Dr. Sturm has always been extra cautious when it comes to sterilization protocol, the team has stepped things up and added barcodes to dental instruments. This system means less human error. However, that’s not all your dentist in Toronto has done to make you feel safe and secure.
What to Expect from Your Yorkville Dentist and Covid-19
The night before your appointment, you will fill out a health screening form sending it back so that the team has a chance to look it over.
When you arrive at the location, you will check in with the security desk before being escorted to the dental suite. If you forgot a face covering, a team member from your Yorkville dentist will provide one for you.
After Check In with Dr. Judy Sturm & Associates
After you have checked in, you will have your temperature taken and be asked to fill out the health screening form one more time for your health and safety.
Once you fill out your form, you will sanitize your hands and take a pulse oximetry test to make sure your oxygen levels are normal. If you are deemed healthy, you will be given gloves and a personalized tote bag. This for your belongings before being led to the waiting room or operatory.
Your Toronto dentist has also removed all of the upholstered chairs and added Plexiglas for the reception area for your safety.

Every team member wears scrubs and a brand new N95 mask for each patient. Strict protocol also includes safety glasses, a face shield and disposable gowns and gloves.
All scrubs are washed nightly while the shoes remain at the dental practice. Following every treatment, each operatory remains empty for at least 15 minutes.

The dental team disinfects all countertops fogging the office with Vital Oxide killing 99.9 percent of viruses.
